I'm Massimo Cristaldi, from a couple of days I joined as memeber this excellent website that I've been watching for a while captured by the skills of the photographers, the beaty of the shots and the quality of the discussions.
I'm from Catania (italy), a mid-sized city (circa 500.000 inhabitants) that lays on Sicily eastern coast, directly "under" Mt. Etna Volcano.
My passions for photography has circa ten years. During a trip in southern spain I could not resist to the beauty of landscapes and bought (it was 1996) a Canon Eos 500N. With the advent of digital photography the passions rised again. Photography is not my main job, I'm CTO of a couple of companies dealing with EU-funded research projects in IT field.
Over the last period I got some satisfactions, selling shots troughout my website and being selected by the main italian newspapers for some shots taken on Mt. Etna volcano.
I'm primarly focused on landscape/nature photography, but I like reportages and take occasionally some wedding shots.
I hope to improve my skills thanks to this forum, to get inspiration from you valuable job, and to get from you all kind of critics that are always useful to grow up.
My website, www.massimocristaldi.com, contains some galleries, some articles and is going to contain my photo portfolio (still creating it).
In case you're planning a tour to my wonderful Sicily, drop me an email and I will be glad to take you to some breathtaking shooting location.
Thank your for the welcome. Basil, Sicily is not "that" far and "that" south
Bill, I posted some shots in the image critique forum.... Can't wait for your feedbacks,
Massimo

If I ever make it that far to the south, I'll let you know. I've always wanted to photograph in the Mt. Etna region, so who knows...?
