Oystercatcher (repost)
Taken in Starcross in Devon last year.

Posted this ages ago and have hopefully taken on board the critique offered. Room for virtual legs and also the fact it was a black bird! (I had lightened the blacks too much last time).

Also, I have processed this image differently using Phil Shaw's reply to a topic a few days ago and I'm certainly happier with the workflow than I was previously using. Critique will tell no doubt.

Comments and critique welcome.

oh yeah, and I'd have preferred a lower angle and also better whites, but i haven't!!

Regards, Graeme

Hi Graeme
a very good image of the bird and the colour in the plumage is beautiful. I read Phil Shaw's posting and I am curious did you do every move he suggested or just some?

Thanks for the comments.

John, I used pretty much all of them as I worked through it. Then I adapted it.

Cheers

Hi Graeme, I looked for the original for comparison but couldn't find it ? but whatever problems there was seem to have been overcome to me

Nice portrait of an Oystercatcher, well held detail in the blacks, whites are heading a touch hot, might be worth adding black to the whites in selective colour, may or may not work.

Lokks good as is though.

Looks good to me also Graeme,

Tricky buggers in bright light, but certainly a decent result!
