Golden sunset over Horsetooth last night, had to stand by a busy road to get this but it was worth it, comments welcome.

Nice shot, Bill! The only thing I'd suggest is to bring a bit more blue back into the clear parts of the sky.

Nat, great suggestion, there must be some deep philosophical saying about being unable to see what is there!! Anyway take a look at this and comment, its a good discussion topic. I went into Bridge and tweaked the colors.
thanks,
Bill

WOW! Now that's lively. Good work!
When you say you "went into Bridge and tweaked the colors" I assume you mean that you opened the raw file into Adobe Camera Raw? Double clicking or using cmd/ctrl-O will launch the raw plug-in interface.
White Balance is the biggest help in making these kinds of adjustments. Try the Presets first, then move the Color Temperature slider and also work with the hue. You will find that you can get much closer to nailing the color with these settings alone.
From here, you have great control over the image - often, you can do everything you need to in ACR, dramatically reducing the work required in Photoshop. Really the only things you can't do in ACR are selective corrections to localized areas and retouching. In any case, doing more global color adjustments in ACR eliminates the need for major color adjustments in Photoshop.

Very nice. The clouds almost seem to glow!

Nice how the highlights frame the Horsetooth. Works well cropped slightly pano too!
I really like this shot overall. Great composition perfect time of day etc. My only problem with it is the hot cloud in the upper left. It is just a little to hot for my tastes. I agree with Scott I think this one would make a very nice Pano.
