We had a couple visitors in my backyard the other day. I took this shot of one of them which though rather abstract reminded me of a Nick Nichols shot of a charging elephant. I can happily say that this criter was not in pursuit of me.

"And I did it that way on purpose. Yeah, that's the ticket. And my wife was standing right next to me. Yeah, my wife, Morgan Fairchild."

Very cool shot, Mel.

It certainly wasn't on purpose in my case, just one of those happy accidents.

The cubs ended up getting into a birdfeeder that my wife had just hung up the day before. Lesson #1 on the new house. Don't hang up bird feeders when the bears aren't hibernating. It was funny watching the cub run up the tree. He'd been sitting on the ground below it when it caught his eye and he was like "Ooooooo shiny toy with food inside". He tried to bite through the steel cable holding it up unsuccesfully before deciding to just bite the plastic housing of the feeder itself. Kinda amazing watching them problem solve. They moved on without incident after just a couple minutes and hopefully they won't have too much negative contact with humans.

Thanks for the comments.
