With the flowers all gone, and not a cloud in the sky, what's a guy to do? I invited Mearle up to one of my favorite overlooks of Seattle for nightfall. We were treated to deep blue sky just after the sun fell. I think the blue is a bit too blue but I did not want to mess with much but it is very close to what we saw. Normally from this view, one would see Mt Rainier. In this case there was a heavy smoke layer just out of sight and running the entire base of the Cascades, which altered the color of the sky - IMHO.

Ranndy,
This is a chamber of commerce image. I bet you could sell, sell, sell this. Nice work!

"The bluest skies you've ever seen are in Seattle." Perry Como, 1968
Pretty nice! Can only hope to top this with greater resolution.
My 220 film is still in the refrigerator. Will send it in for processing along with whatever I get at the beach this weekend.

Randy,
You could publish some major posters of this shot. Surreal blue sky. Shouldn't really work, but it does. I'm liking this one...

Randy - Best you stick with your own RGB inkjet printer on this one. Try converting that shade of blue to CMYK for commercial printing, and you would be sorely dissappointed if you thought the blue would be the same. I would be concerned about clients expectations as well, unless you demonstrate beforehand the expected color shift when they go to print it themselves.

Nice sunset glow on the buildings. However, they are leaning to the right; easy to fix.

I was just at this place (or very near) two weeks ago...my shot doesn't compare though

Slight nit: move slightly to the left so that the one building isn't behind the Space Needle. The light of the sky is perfect!

Just about perfect, Randy!

Hi Randy, I wish I could have joined you & Mearle for this but I had a prior commitment for that evening. Needless to say I was not in a position to enjoy this!!!
The sky is anawesome shade of blue and the buildings are all brightly lit to compliment the sky. Well done!!
