Testing an EF 2x mkII Extender on my 300mm F/2.8 IS.

Camera Raw / CS2 /Neat Image

Canon 350D

300mm @ 600mm
ISO 400
F/8
1/320s
AI Servo
EV 0

The light section running along the bottom of the image is an OOF 'obstruction'. However, it's only an evaluative shot to help me decide whether or not to purchase the 2x extender. (So I'm not really that bothered.)

The 9x6in. print I've just done has come out very well indeed - so I'm liking this extender at the mo.

To get the best results out of the 2x extender you have to stop down to f11 or smaller so that you are only using the central part of the 2x lenses.

You seem to have got quite a lot of detail in the bird even with the x2 Antony :)

Nice active pose captured Antony, and sharpness/focusing looks good to me also.
