What a nightmare!!
My computer started conking out a couple of months ago, and the recent hot weather was the final nail in the coffin for the computer's insides . Ive had to have a new case/motherboard/processor etc installed {which cost me an arm and a leg }.
I'm almost up and running now, although i am still in the process of tinkering with various settings, as i am now using XP {previously i was using ME}.
I'm just posting this shot as a test, as my re-vamped computer appears to have a different screen resolution now . I used to have 800x600, but now it is 1024x768. Although this seems ok, it is causing me problems in photoshop7 when i am applying sharpening for prints, as the screen image is smaller than it previously was, and if i try to look at the screen image at 'print size', it is displayed smaller than its measurements suggest. No dought i will eventually get to grips with this malarky again, but its a pain in the backside
Anyway, i hope to be back in the groove soon, and getting fully involved again.
Hi Alan very nice, just put your screen res back to 800-600.
Phillip.

Hello Phillip,
Yes, i have tried that but i get a message on the screen saying i have to reduce the volume, or photoshop will not work at its best . I think i have worked out what this means, so this is on my list of 'tinkering'. I'm gradually getting used to this screen resolution though, so i may just stick with it
Welcome back, Alan; and a nice photo to return with. Might shave a sliver from the foreground. Hope you get your computer problems sorted (although I`m the wrong person to ask about computers!).
Cheers,

I'm sorry to hear about your arm and leg, but very pleased to see your work again. This is a very nice pic, I'd lighten the head with a bit of dodging to bring out the eye.
Look forward to more.
Tim

Hi Alan, great shot of a bird I'm yet to get. Love the low angle, FG and BG. The head and eye could do with slight lightening as Tim suggested as it's a bit dark on my monitor too. Beautiful though.

I'd try to get used to the higher resolution 800x600 really is too low for PS....
Nice image with a great bg, agree with Tim a touch of lightening on the head would help.
