If you get a chance please visit my new website. Link is below. There's still work to be done, but it's going for the most part. Some of the images didn't upload very clearly/sharply for some reason - still tryng to figure that out.
I stole ideas from many people, including many NPN'ers, so if you see something that looks familiar, I hope you take it as a compliment. If not, email me and I'll modify the part in question.
If you see any spelling/grammatical errors, please be kind enough to let me know. I've gone over it several times, but something still may have slipped by.
It looks great, Bill! The images are fantastic and I like the layout and ease of navigation.
The full-size images may be too big for some browsers but look great on a large screen.

Wow! Really nice Bill. No complaints here. I like how you've even included brief descriptions/stories to go along with each image and caption. Great work on this!

Beatiful images Bill. Some of your beach scenes took my breath away. Your site is easy to walk through. Nicely done!
Your site looks great. Not surprising given the excellence of the images you are presenting. The links seem to work as designed although I did find myself on your equipment description page when I thought I had clicked on Fine Arts Print, so you might want to recheck.
Since I spent many years as a computer programmer I took a look at your underlying code. It looks clean, but I didn't find any directions for search engines. You also don't seem to have a "robots.txt" document to allow or disallow indexing by such engines. I wonder if you have considered how folks will find your site other than by a link from your NPN posts. Google robots.txt and meta robots to learn more.

Thanks all.
David - I'm just beginning to learn a little about submitting to search engines. I basically know nothing. I have no idea what a robot is, but will eventually learn. I will definitely look at the info you suggested.
Also, thanks for reporting the wierd link - I've gone back and corrected and will upload that correction along with some others in the morning.

Bill...clear and easy to navigate with excellent images

Good job, Bill! Fast and easy to navigate. I do have one concern though. When the new windows pop, they are non-scrolling. My iMac 20 has a 20" wide screen, which has about an inch less vertical viewing real estate than a conventional 19" monitor. The result is that I'm only able to see the first couple of prices on your price list.

Kelly - thanks for that comment. I don't know why that would be, they scroll fine on my monitor. Perhaps someone eho knows something about websites can offer a clue. I'll also talk with Tech Support to see if they might know why that's happening. Is that the only page that doesn't scroll, or is anyone else having that problem?

Bill, very nice! All works correctly for me too.
Posted by Kelly Rowe on September 4, 2006 at 9:36 AM
They all pop without scrollbars on Safari, with the exception of your opening page.
After reading Kelly's comment, I looked again this time on an iBook running Safari rather than in Windows. With Safari 1.3.2 in MacOS 10.3.9 all the pages opened without scrollbars except your Gallery page, which works correctly. Perhaps you could look again at what parameters you are using there and make sure the other pages are specified in a similar way.
Formerly it was my job to make sure that commercial websites worked as much alike as possible on all platforms. It isn't easy. In general simple and flexible has a better chance.

Thanks David for the additional info - I've emailed the Technical Support people, but i think they're off today, so iit'll probably be tomorrow before I get an answer.

Bill - I think the website looks great - and it is really easy to get around. What I really like about this is the sharpness of the images; often websites have a softness to the images that deter from the real image but yours looks great
Bill,
sitting in an internet cafe in Salzburg (a little break in photo trip) I viewed your hp on a small screen and it still looks great. I like everything about it. (I have to mention, I like the paddle- photos a lot, since we are avid seakayakers have been to some places but never paddled in florida - you could post more of those as well... )
well done!

Great site, you have wonderful work. On your equipment page I loved your comments, esp. regarding your response to "you must have a nice camera". There does seem to be some JPG noise? on your images, as you mentioned. They don't look as sharp as the ones you've posted to NPN. The comments for each image are great. I love the "right click disabled" , a good way to protect your images more, it seems.

Bill,,,,,your beach images always bring back great memories. I'll have to take a trip down the coast soon to see your prints in person. BTW,,,,the site looks and performs great on my system using Mozilla Firefox browser.

Looks great ,it is nice to revisit some of your images already posted and also see some I may have missed before. Your comments are a nice touch as are the pink slippers.
