Great pose, some of the whites seem to be heading towards being hot (more than likely to be web compression) but the great dynamic pose more than makes up for that.

A fine capture, I find the colours a bit to subtle, but a great pose though.

Hello John
As said, the pose is perfect, but I too find the colours a little too pale. Easy fixed in PS curves though!
Best wishes

Good grief - talk about nit-picking

Am I the only one who thinks we get far too hung up about soem technicalities that really don't matter THAT much when appreciating art.

It's a stonking photograph - well done John

Nice image and really well exposed; I don't find the whites distracting.

Ideally, I would like to see more of the bird`s eye, and I agree that the whites could perhaps be toned down a touch. Nevertheless, minor nits aside, it is an artistic image. The pose is dynamic, and the pale grey-blue background sets off the Gannet`s plumage a treat. Colour saturation looks just about right to me.
Barrie: Nit-picking is what this site is all about. All minor nits picked can surely give the photographer ideas as to what to look out for to improve their pictures still further, should they find themselves in a similar situation again. This is supposedly a critique site, after all, although lately it is seeming more like an arselickers` convention!
