Grey Heron.
Took this about a month ago at my local quarry.

I had intended to attempt some lapwing 'flight' shots, but their flightpaths were too erratic for me :frown:

This large branch is a common perch for the local herons, so i turned my attention to them

I had hoped to catch it as it was about to land, but by the time my lens had chugged into focus it had already landed

I'm pretty impressed with this 'predictive focusing' wizardry!!

A very nice pose and a great perch too.
Lets hope Prescott does'nt want to turn your mini dome into a casino!

Crikey Nigel  ,

The thought of having to share my dome with an attractive young croupier, is too much for me to bear

I've never had to wear Black Tie to go into a dome hide before. It's always been a gamble which lens to use and when the chips are down I normally miss the shot

Could be fun though and the Croupiers would be an added attraction. Good shot of the Heron by the way :toast:

Rob
