only.... if it was in this country, if it was near the nest, if it was disturbed and if it wasn't shot from a close public palace...

Sorry to cause alarm, this photograph was take some 25 years ago I obtained a licence from the then Nature conservency, and in fact had a licence over several seasons. I just happen to have a large collection of Little Tern shots and just fancied posting one. As a point of interest
I helped warden the colony over a period of years. In those days most bird photography was at the nest, perhps a bad choice of subject, but the birds welfare was always put first.

Cheers

Good first post Trevor. Good of you to clarify when and how the shot was taken as it can be a sensitive topic these days. Good wing stretch.

Hi Trevor.
Not my favourite type of shot, but for a shot that's over 1/4 century old, it holds up well to modern day types.

Seems everyone's guilty 'til proved innocent when there's moral highground at stake.

Hi Trevor

Thanks for the clarification. It must be getting ready to get it's pension by now!

The shot appears to have a slight red cast on my monitor - might just be my eyes though!

It sounds like we'll have some more goodies coming for our eyes. Nice first post.

Looks good to me also Trevor,

Appears that the little blighter was moving around, judging from the raised foot, so you did well to keep good focus.

Does appear to have a slight colour cast to me also, but you have made a better job of scanning this old slide or neg, than my efforts.

nice one

Alan
