Took a ride to the great sand dunes n.p. to take some photos. when I got there I had perfect weather conditions for taking some shots. 30 minuits later the weather chaged completly. It was so windy that I thought I wouldn't even take one photo. Because I am from germany and I don't have so many oppertunities to get to that park , I decided to take my camere out of my backpack carefully my girlfriend helped me to protect the camera of the sand and then I was ready to shot :)
Here is one of my photos.

Nice. Those people really help give it a sense of scale.

Your photo certainly conveys a dark and threatening mood. I hope your camera survived the sand. I hate that grinding sound when trying to focus. :biggrin:

Beautiful shot! Might I suggest a levels adjustment layer, or some other form of increasing contrast? This is too good to suffer from the flatness it has now.

thanks for your comment
@Todd
I was taking the shot in the manual mode. I underexposed the photo on purpose to get a better effect of the shadows . It might be a little bit to underexposed, but I still like it .

This looks perfect on my monitor. I just wish that you could see the top of the dune. Addition of the people makes this photo stand out (IMO). Thanks for posting. :smile:

I agree about the people, it makes this shot something special. Without them you really have no idea how large those dunes are; terrific sense of scale with them included.

The image could use a little brightening and some contrast adjustment, but that's easy enough.
