I have to decide between the Sept 23-26 or Sept 28-Oct. I know its a little early, but can someone give me their best guess. I have to cancel the hotel for the first date by Sept 9th.

Sept. 26-28 will definitely be the best.

I agree....the later date is better.

There are so many things that influence timing of the color, it's impossible to make a meaningful prediction. If things are like the past couple of years, I'd aim for the later dates. Several of us were around Kebler last year on the weekend of the 24th - it was very very nice but a little early in some spots. Either weekend will be spectacular.

I agree with Darren, except I'd probably pick a.m. over p.m. Bring a tripod.

I was up there too last year over the weekend of the 23rd, and while there was good color, it was still quite a few days away from peaking. So, yeah, I'd say go later in the month if you can.
Now, on the other hand, that same weekend I was in Lake City and the colors there were simply fantastic. So, while it may be peaking on Kebler in late Sept, you can still find a ton of places elsewhere in the state around the 23rd - 26th.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll go on the 27th.
