I am going to be in the Crested Butte area 9/24 -26, to do the fall color (hopefully) at Kebler Pass. Around 9/27-30 in the Aspen area for same, (and trout fishing).
I am from Michigan, however spend my winters in Colorado skiing and often goimng to Utah for photography and hiking and Mountain biking.
Does anyone have similar plans for this fall? Am I basically on target, as much as you can be, for good color? Any other areas I should look at? Thanks Bruce Scorsone
I'd post this again over at the Rocky Mountain forum here at NPN. Those folks are really knowledgeable and helpful!

As Hank said the Rocky Mountain forum is a big help. I made a trip to Crested Butte last year about the same time based on input I recieved there and the colors were great. The following link was a big help to me:

I spent 4 days exploring Kebler Pass and Ohio Pass which are both right outside Crested Butte.
Enjoy,
Mike

The Kebler Pass area is great -- I was there a couple falls ago and it was fantastic.
