Kiel Canal, Germany
I took a cruise around the Baltic Sea this summer and am just getting a chance to process my pictures. We transited through the Kiel Canal in northern Germany and I got these shots there. The cruise ship provided a unique perspective on the surrounding countryside and it's hard to believe these were taken from a cruise ship. I really liked the quality of the light.

I'd love some feedback!

Thanks,

Here's the other one.

Evan, that light really is gorgeous. I like how both images convey the mood and a painterly effect.

On the first image, I really like how the tree tops mimic the shapes of the clouds, but the lower mass of trees doesn't add anything to the image. I might suggest slightly cropping the bottom. The dark trees add well-placed visual weight to the bottom of the composition but compete for dominance in the frame.

On the second image, the composition looks nice, but there appears to be a bit of a focus problem in the foreground.

Nice work, keep it coming!

Beautiful images. It is incredible that they were taken from a cruise ship. Thanks for sharing.
