The moon was pretty big and bright last night (and should be even better tonight according to Tim Ernst's journal!) and I found a subject I thought I'd try to backlight against it.
This spider was a difficult subject since it kept moving around and limited my shutter speed, not to mention the fact that it was a difficult shooting position. I'll have to spend more time with this kind of composition to see if I can improve the results.
Canon 20D
ISO 3200
EF 28-135mm @ 135mm
f5.6 for 1/4 of a second
Thanks for looking!

Looks pretty dang good to me - and just in time for Halloween (even though it's more than a month away, I'm seeing costume rental shops already)! Great job on this Tim, especially considering the difficulty factor. Thanks for the post!
I like it too! When I saw the post title I was hoping this was the kind of shot you had done. Thanks for showing us.

Tim, the more I look at this the more things I find to like! I really like the contrast of the linear and circular shapes. The position of the spider and even the noise introduced by the 3200 ISO add to the feel of this shot. Well done indeed!
Now .... where's my tuffit!
