My photography has been somewhat limited this summer due to my ever expanding baby belly, but I have managed to venture out to a few nearby parks.

I captured this elusive waterlily on film and scanned it at the office with their lovely HP document scanner. It's not an amazing mountain scene that is standard here, but hey, it's nature!

All things considered, let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Hi Renee,

I think this is a lovely photo. It has a delightfull softness that compliments the subject matter and seems to give the flower a subtle glow. Nice.

Cheers,

This is great, Renee. I agree with Mark - the subject and the soft presentation were made for each other. Very nice layers and depth with the overlapping greens. Super!

The photo glows ! Beautiful rendition, considering the subject, I think this is one that benefits from not being super sharp and constrasty. Great job!

Hi Renee,

Hey, no need to appologize! Heck, you see one Colorado mountain scene, you've seen them all... Just kidd'n everyone!!

I agree with the others. I really like the soft pastel feel of the picture. However, it seems to me the glare from the background leaves competes a bit with the subject. One thing you might try at the next opportunity would be to use a touch of polarization to cut the glare, making the subject flower a little more dominant to the eye.
