I was up at Bear Lake this evening in the pouring rain and autumn is well underway. I also drove to Grand Lake today to deliver a framed piece for their new library and there are brightly colored aspen all the way down to GL. It looks like autumn has arrived a bit early.

I love that spot on the north shore of the lake too. It indeed looks like it might be an early fall. Nice shot! Are you going to be at the Scottish-Irish Highland Festival in Estes this weekend?

Thanks guys. The slope below Bierstadt is beginning to turn but still has a ways to go before it is at peak. Next time I am up there I'll try to get a shot of it. I won't be participating in the Scottish Irish festival. I'm not sure if it is because they don't like non Scottish landscape photography or if it is because they are afraid I'll wear a kilt.

Thats a really cool shot. I was there late in the morning yesterday after hiking up Boulder Brook.Your shot is a lot better than mine was. It was raining very hard.

Nice shot, Eric! I have an almost identical shot that I took about 5 years ago...same colors, rocks, and some fog! I even called it "Autumn at Bear Lake"! It's been my best seller!
You should be able to get good mileage out of this one! Good luck!
Once again you've taken your personal playground (the other RMNP) and really captured its essence in a single image. This is a tremendous shot Erik. I can't wait to see it prominently in your art fair tent.
