Date: Saturday 7th October 2006 Venue:Bradgate Park, Leic. Time: Early bird meeting time would be 6.45am. 4pm in the carpark for the Sunset mob. At any other time just look for a group of people with big lenses in the park. Sunrise is at 7.11am and Sunset is about 6.30pm. Meeting Place: Bradgate has three car-parks and, as the carpark we use in the morning of the 7th is dependant upon where the deer have been in the days before, I will let you know which carpark on Friday 6th Oct.
In the afternoon we will be in the Newton Linford Carpark.
There is a charge to use all of the carparks so bring coins (about £3) Subject: Red Deer Rut

Hi Tom
I was intending to go to Bradgate on the 7th, Caerlaverock is a bit too far for me.

Just got clearance from the better half, count me in for Bradgate please. I'll be travelling up from Gloucester so if anyone needs transport between Gloucester, M42, M1 on the Saturday just shout.
ps buying a new car for the better half just to go photographizing is OTT
update: the $£"$£$%$£^$%^ car is due for delivery on Saturday :(
Meet at the Cropston end of the park at about 6.45am.
From that point until about 12noon we will be in the park (look for the obvious group)
at 12noon I ( and suppose others - at least Adrian) may retire to the Bradgate pub in Newton Linford until about 3.30pm (ish)
Topics of conversation to include, but not limited to
1) the UKNP conference
2) how to keep you kit safe - a safe?
3) insurance companies -
4) Toms' current new big lense bag ( for 3/4/5/600mm lenses) ( a prototype) and suggestions for further alterations before he gets his, and anybody else that is interested in one, made by a pucka UK firm at as cheap a price as possible. This may be a one off deal - but hope not!
from 3pm -> dusk we should be parking in the Newton Linford carpark and be back in the park.
PS took the following this afternoon - so they are there -- full frame on a 500mm

Tom,
I should be - am going to have to borrow my daughters old Canon 50E and get some film . It has a Sigma 100-300 mm f4 lens and I have a 1.4x so we'll see if that works - Now all I have to do is work out how to use the 50E! (It's so old most of the markings have worn off!)
See you there (I'll try to be on time this year )

Danny - yes please on the lens (it's one I really want to try) and the body - I have some film luckily (OK I nicked my daughters )
Adrain, bring the C-Flash Cards, and maybe somebody will have a second digital body with them, or I possibly will have Michelle's 20D if she decides not to attend in the morning.

I have to admit that I favour Bradgate as it is the 'right time' of year and I can do some scouting before hand.
The 7th at bradgate would be good, if thats the case I would come, like to meet a few you guys.
