Painted Lady
D200 w. Signa 150 f2.8 macro
1/640 @ f10 ISO 800 handheld natural light

Not the best background, I know and I would have preferred a native foodplant. We don't often get painted ladies up here in such numbers, however, and I really do love the markings on the underwings.

Looks pretty darned good to me Malcolm!

Good detail from near tip to far tip, and the bg doesn't compete with the subject in my view

Hi Malcolm

Excellent detail and I think the background complements the subject.

A beautiful shot. The bg only adds to the picture in my view.

Very nice..... for the purist then a native food plant perch would be ideal but that does not detract from an excellent image.

Hello Malcolm
I like it, excellent colour and detail and the BG compliments it well.
