I have always enjoyed good night shots. But I have noticed very few in the forums of the Rockies. I am new to the area and intrigued with the *idea*. I used to shoot more night shots at the coast - not as cold I know.
Do many of you attempt night shots here? If you have can you post some of them?
I have never seen a shot of Maroon Bells that impressed me this much.

Derek, I too love that kinda stuff, sadly most I've done has been in the deserts of Utah. However, check out Jack Brauers awesome moonlight gallery! Great stuff, especially when you consider some of the locations Jack got to to shoot the night shots!

Wow,
Great shots Brent. Those shots Jack took *from* the snow topped peaks at night look great and really cold

Hey Brent, thanks for the link! Yeah fullmoons in the wintertime are the best! I like to get up on some peak, and wait for the time about an hour after sunset, when the sky is just about the same brightness as the moonlit snow. There is a point during the transition when the moonlight just really starts to pop and you can start really seeing shadows around, yet the sky still has just a hint of blue color... perfect time for a several minute exposure!

Here is my favorite one in the Rockies by Daniel Bayer:
