Here is my last shot from Finland. I will leave you all alone for a while after this one. This actually is not manipulated, except for blending exposures. The tidal pool is motionless and picking up the dark blue high sky, the water is blurred from the waves on a 10 second exposure....and then sunset obviously. Soo...I personally think it looks like a Dali painting. I like it, but its wierd...almost too wierd for me. But its real, which is the craziest part. What do you all think.

Overall I like the colors.

But the main question that arrises when looking at it is 'What is it?' What is the subject? A larger view might do it some more justice which might display the details in the tidal pool better. It is kind of abstract. I am also wondering if it would look better if the sky was cropped out. Hmmm...

I love it. One of the favorites I've seen posted here in a while. It's nice to see something different. The bottom and top parts of the image look like two different images, so it's cool that this is just one scene.

I agree with Mr. Collier, very cool. It does look otherworldly, but that certainly isn't a drawback if that is what you where after. There was nothing you could have done in this case, but better separation between the driftwood and the rock background might have tied the two halfs together.

Cheers,
Alex

I love moody pictures like this! I can imagine the rocks on the left as a woman's head with her body lying on its side, motionless, 1/2 in and 1/2 out of the pool, with a ghostly ocean behind her. I would crop out the sky completely to increase the mood...I love it.

hehe...thanks. I suppose I could try a bit of burning and dodging to seperate the branch from the rock...but I have never been to good at that.

Sweet! The contrast of still water and blurry motion water is very interesting. One suggestion is to brighten up the sky so that the orange color is more bold and directly complimentary to the blue below.

I agree with Grant here - this is very creative, original, and visually appealing.

Fantasic! In the words of the Men who invented the 6 pack, "BRILLIANT!"

Personally I don't care if you can recognize what it is, it's beautifully artistic! I would hang this on my wall!
