Hey all! Anybody have any reccomendations (not too pricey) for an LCD display for a PC. Widescreen or no?

Eric,
I recently bought a Samsung 215tw for $529.00 at Costco. Its 21 inches wide and really has great detail in the shadows and highlights. I also like it because it's rectangular shaped so you have plenty of room for your tools in Photoshop. It saves you from having to run two monitors for that reason. I did alot of research on it before I bought it and found many photographers are using it. When I first plugged it in it was really bright. After I calibrated it, it was awesome. Here's a link to it on the Samsung website. http://www.samsung.com/Products/Monitor/LCD_Digital/LS21DPWABXAA.asp

I have 2 Samsung 213T's and love them to death. Great monitors that calibrate well and what I've printed from different places has looked pretty spot on. Nothing like 42 inches of screen space for Photoshop or for the music applications that I use.

Hey gang! Nancy & I are up on San Juan Island for some much needed R&R&P (R&R&P = Rest & Relaxation & Photography).

We both have Samsung 215T's along with Dell 19" widescreen LCD's that came with our new Dell PC's. Dual monitors with Photoshop is in my marginally humble opinion the ONLY way to fly. All the Photoshop tools on one monitor and the image on the other one. I only wish Adobe Lightroom would allow this.

Eric you can't go wrong with the Samsung monitors!!

That's 3 for 3 on the Samsungs! Wow. Anybody have any experience with Viewsonic?

Yes, Eric...we used to go with Viewsonic in our office, but they didn't live up to the hype. Now, all I will purchase is the Samsungs. I have two Syncmaster 213t's and they are as vivid as you can get...and the price isn't terrible either.

I'm thinking a 21.3 inch flat screen in a normal position for landscape images, next to that another 21.3 rotated 90 degrees for portrait orientations, and one more, maybe 19" or so for Photoshop palettes... that would be cool...

LOL Ned, yeah, I wish.
I did get a monitor though. I ended up buying a Samsung 225bw. It's doesn't quite have the specs of the 215T but its 22" and widescreen. Woohoo! :jump:
