If you wish to do a slide show for either one of the autumn weekends I have established a few guidelines to insure that 1) we can project it; and 2) it is of appropriate length so we will have time for everyone who wishes to show some images.
Slideshow Guidelines
1 You may bring slides or digital images.
If you bring 35mm slides I will have slide trays for you to insert them in.
If you bring digital images prepare accoring to the instructions below and bring them on a CD-ROM, DVD, compact flash card, SD chip or USB drive.
If you have slide show authoring software you may prepare a slide show not longer than 12 minutes and I will have audio capability connect to my PC
2 Individual images will be limited to 10 images (that usually averages out to about 1.5 minutes per slide and would be around 15 min).
3 I will bring all the projection equipment and ask only that folks help me haul it to the room, set it up, and return it after the meeting.
Preparing digital images for the meeting:
Dimensions
The images need to be JPG files sized to fit a maximum of 1024 pixels wide and 768 pixels high. This is the native resolution for the projector and will give the best representation of your images. If you bring individual images I will place them into a file that you will be able to move forward or backward from a remote control. If you are not familiar with how to resize slides in photoshop or photoshop elements and don't have anyone to help you email me and I will help you out.
File Size
When you resize you file dimenions according to the pixel count you should have a much smaller file size. When you save a file as a jpg file you have the option to set the comperssion value. Please choose a compression level that will give you a file size of 500 KB or less. The best file size for the projector will be files of less that 500 kb. This will provide plenty of resolution and will change quickly when you change the slide. If you prepare slides for posting on NPN or the NENP forums you all ready know how this works. Again if you do not know how to do this and don't have someone to help email me and I see what I can do.
If you author a slide show. . .
Limit the running time to 12 minutes. Email me and let me know what application you use to author the show and if you will be bringing a runtime version of the show. Please bring slideshows on a CD, DVD, compact flash card, SD card, or USB drive.
Questions on the above or any ommission please post a question or better, email me for info
