Has anyone had experience with this printer? I need a printer that prints images up to at least 13" wide. I am tired of making so many trips to the lab.

Any other thoughts?

I don't own the 2400, but have seen it demonstrated twice- once by Epson at a show and again by one of their reps in a CompUSA store. In both cases they were obviously using the best possible files, but results were superb. We might pick one up, but for now are looking for something bigger. Perhaps owners can provide first-hand user reports.

I have an R2400 and have been very happy with the results. I use a Chromix custom profile because none of the free profiles generated by the paper companies seemed to work. I don't know if that's a printer issue or not, but since the custom profile I've gooten some very nice prints. Buy your ink at Atlex.com - the cheapest place I've found. they were the cheapest for the printer as well ($759 I believe)

What Guy said.

I've had good luck with Epson profiles for their premium luster paper, but I agree with Bill that the profiles from Moab for their Entrada papers are way too warm.

I had a custom profile made for Entrada, but found the Hahnemuhle canned profile for Photo Rag extremely accurate.

What Guy said again! I've even had a few winners at our camera club printed on my 2400. I use a continuous ink system by MIS. No more Epson cartridges at $15 a pop that run out in a week!!!

It's a fantastic printer! I calibrate with PrintFix Pro and get incredible results. I tried the Ilford profile for their premium pearl paper and everything shifted to magenta, so don't bother with those freebies. I'll have to check into the continuous ink systems Mike mentioned. If you do a lot of printing the cost of ink will eat you alive.

Another satisfied 2400 user here. It is perfect for the smaller prints and provides excellent results. I was really blown away by the quality when I first started using it!

I guess I have the LEMON 2400. I have used Epson 1800 previously with great results and no hassel. My 2400 produces great prints when working correctly. At one point, when all my pictures were coming out "muddy," I spent at least 4 hours on the telephone with the Epson rep to try to figure out the problem. (The photo had a gray haze over it.) In the end they said it was a Photoshop problem. Then spent two more hours with the Photoshop rep who said it was an Epson problem. In the end I uninstalled the program and reinstalled and that remedied the situation. I know I'm not the only one to have this problem because I overhead another Epson 2400 owner asking a rep at a conference how to fix hers.
