CSS scripts for photo site?

While recuperating from my hip replacement I thought to update my web site. I've been searching for some scripts to build the site and find by and large they have been designed by programmers rather than photographers and lack a bit in design.

My disposition is tad strained at the moment  and my patience somewhat lacking. Would anybody know a site where simple but well designed scripts are available?

Cheers,
Dave

David, I've noticed that this post has sat here for awhile with no responses. I don't quite understand your request. Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) can be used to control the appearance of a site, but aren't really "scripts." That is, they don't have any effect on how a site works, just how it looks. To use them directly, you would need to be writing your web pages in their underlying code -- HTML, Java Script, etc. That is a pretty difficult approach and as you say, is mostly for programmers.

Have you looked into one of the many excellent web design tools available? DreamWeaver, Web Studio and many more.

If you want to update this post with more about what you want to accomplish perhaps someone here can direct you to appropriate resources.

David,

You are correct, I should have stated template instead of script.

I do have some of the web design tools you mention and experience in coding HTML. I have two 'problems,' one being patience, patience, patience! Due to the surgery, my concentration and patience isn't what it might be. Secondly, in my remote location there are few people I can bounce ideas off. A local publishing company has been advertising for a web designer for the last two years.

My hope was that if I had some good templates they might serve as professional 'colleagues' that would help me develop a site with a minimum of frustration, which if the truth ( and my wife ) be known, I'm a bit prone to at the moment.

Cheers,
Dave

David, I don't know of any templates specifically for photography. Of course, that doesn't mean they don't exist. My suggestion would be to use one of your web design tools. They often use CSS templates without your having to deal with them directly. Once you have something up, post the URL here and I"m sure you'll get some good feedback.

I empathize with the after effects of your surgery. Hopefully you will be feeling stronger soon.
