The land above treeline in New England has reached it's peak, with golden browns and flame reds mottling the landscape.
I took this from behind Lake of the Clouds hut last night at sunset...simply a glorious evening and the hike back under clear skies was amazing!
If you can get to an accessable (lifts or roads to: Cannon, Wildcat, Loon, Washington, Mansfield) mountain top in the next week before the valley foliage really gets going...I highly reccomend it!

An evening without winds!

Very nice Jim! The foreground has great light!, The pastel sky, and the distant mountains are beautiful. I like the strong diagnal, with the sun peaking over! Everything balances nicely. I'd be tempted to print this big I may head over that way next weekend and see what I can find. It does seem like the leaves are changing a little earlier this year.

I put another of last night's views in ES&S on NPN...I love both shots, any thoughts on which you find stronger???
