Did you have a positive experience with cashback?
Finally it is possible to get 5D below 2000 Euro provided you get 300 Euro as cashback.

Hi Prashant
I received 2 cashbacks from Canon UK earlier this year (£200 for my 5D, £35 for my 580EX). Both were paid within 4 weeks of submitting the cashback form (which had to be sent to the Canon office in Ireland).
cheers
Sean

I got back over $700 US for some expensive lenses and a 20D body last year. It took a couple of months to arrive, but I was able to check the website and keep track of progress. If I remember correctly, the rebate check just went for more Canon gear.

I bought a 24-70mm L and it took about 3 months to get the cash back. But I did get it!

Here in the UK I got cashback on a Canon 17-40mm lens and 580EX flash, all came through,as expected,in three to four weeks.

Yes, but...
11 weeks before a card arrived saying they wouldn't ship the check to a PO Box. Then a call to the listed number and they verified that I was me and shipped it to the PO Box anyway...all worked out alright...

I did not have a good experience with cashback. I submitted my documents complete around Dec 1, 2005. I had $300+ to come back. I did not get my check until April 2006. And this was a result of me calling to speak to someone at the refund company in person. The refund company's representitive was very polite and resolved the problem immediately. I wished that I had called them earlier, but was also irritated that my claim sat in a pending payment status for so many months without someone addressing the issue. We also purchased a Samsung monitor a while back, which was to include a free Canon (I believe) inkjet. Not sure if it was through the same rebate company, but we never received the printer. Of course I wasn't really concerned about the printer. I was just planning to give it to a relative, but its the pricipal of the thing.
However, I might still consider it on the 5D if I was in the market. 300Euros is a good amount of cash and much better than nothing.

I got the rebate on my 5D about 2 to 3 months after submitting the paperwork with no problems. I had read on another forum to be very maticulous about following the rebate instructions to avoid any unneccessary hassles, as they seem to be a stickler on these details..

It took a while, but I had no trouble getting cash back on my 5D purchased several months ago.
