A harsh situation and you have handled the harsh light well to produce a great action image.

Nice shot, i've seen this my self, though i usualy see this in jan/feb when pairs are defending their space from intruders. I even spotted a moorhen take on a coot! usualy its the other way round... I'm usually in the wrong place to get it though.
Nice shot.

An excellent bit of action very well captured.
The positioning of both birds is excellent and the frozen flying water between them really adds to the image.
Good combination of colours with that blue water making a great backdrop to the black, yellow and red of the birds.
I don't find the lighting overly harsh and it certainly doesn't spoil the image for me.

Great action shot, Terry. Very well executed. Only wish for a bit lower angle (if it were possible).
Helge, yes it was difficult to get a low angle but the next one I post will be a little lower, I was hoping that the higher angle in this reinforced the power of the Moorhen on top and made the one on the bottom seem more vunerable ?

14 repliesOne of the many fights I have photographed this year, the light was quite harsh so it will be interesting what you have to say about this one ?
