Well, I tried to form this one about two years ago. It did not materialize due to lower number of members. I'm trying again. (I had taken Jim_0001's permission at that time to post this over here).

Ok, what forum?
For European NPNers who live in non-english speaking countries.

Why?
Why not! okok, mainly because many of us live in countries where traveling to is easier than lets say England. I mean people living in Germany, Austria, Belgium, CR, Holand, Swiss, and Italy etc are very close to each other. It is often a case that we need to know a good shops, local foto-community-clubs, some info about lets say 'how are the fall colors in Austria this week?'. And also an opportunity to meet each other, plan trips. Recently me and Juza had a great fun in the dolomite's. So why not!?.

If anybody is interested let me or Jim know. If you think this is an idea for 'round file', I'll be saving this thread for copy paste in another two years.

I think that's a great idea. I'm not (yet) an NPN member, though.

Sounds like a great idea. Of course I won't be joining, but the local fourms are a great way to get to know each other and come a little closer together.

The NPN regional forums are enjoyed by many, but some are more active than others. Recently we merged some of the lower-activity forums with more active ones and that seems to have worked well. Too many forums can be a not-so-good thing, but if there is enough interest in a European forum, we could give it a shot. The largest obstacle I can see is the diversity of languages.

I'd be up for it! :toast:

Regarding diversity of languages: I think all people frequenting NPN understand English. However, I see your point, I think: If all the people from one country start to use their own language, the forum might brake apart from a European forum into language-specific groups. Would have to be taken care of by setting up appropriate rules, I guess (however, I think that most "Europeans" understand more than one language, so maybe the problem is not all that big after all)...

I agree with you Jim, at the same point if there is enough interest we can give it a shot. Of course, english will be the language of 'forum communication'.
