I've been getting a lot of e-mails the last few days about the condition of the Bierstadt Moraine in RMNP. We had a very strong windstorm on Saturday night that stripped many of the trees near Bear Lake nearly bare as well as some of the others that had turned significantly in Glacier Basin. There is however still quite a bit of color to come. I took this shot prior to sunrise this morning just to give folks an idea of what to expect.

Erik,
Was there less wind this morning? I see the clouds have moved from behind the divide.

Things can change fast but my geuss is that in four days that Bierstadt Morraine should still be great - maybe not even at peak yet. As Erik says much of Bear Lake and above is already about. Lower elevations like Horeshoe Park still have a lot of green.
