Kruger Lion portrait
Not much to say about this one; just a last-gasp shot before sunset after several hours watching a pride feed on a giraffe.

ISO400, 1/125@f6.3 500mm + 1.4x

Hi Andrew,
A lovely looking animal and a very appealing portrait especially in that beautiful warm light.
Only very minor nit is the lion's left eye doesn't look quite as critically sharp as it could be,the right one looks fine though.Perhaps it just needs a little more USM or it could just be me and my dodgy eyes.

Still a lovely shot though of an intelligent looking creature:toast:

A lovely portrait and you got that magical African light that eluded me last year whilst in Kenya.

I would agree that the eyes do not appear to be critically sharp, it looks as though the point of focus was at the nose, but still a great shot.

Lighting and BG colours really compliment the lioness.

Very nice last-gasp shot

Nice one Andrew, if he had been looking directly at you it would have been even better but probably a little disconcerting to you if he was

Lovely framing/composition Andrew,

Does lack that vital bit of snap around the eye area, but still a fine shot to round the day off nicely :toast:
