I am thinking of going to Aspen to get the Bells for Tuesday Morning. Am I to late or what? I do not want to waste the gas and other expenses if to late or early. Also, if you guy say go is there anywhere else I should go that day? I say the post about the Mills being screwed up. Remember I am on crutches when conside3ring spots. I will thank all those that respond now. Thanks as always you guys are the best.

Too late for what? Ya know, the Bells are pretty monumental, with or without autumn gold. I mean, come on, you're in Longmont. It's not like you have to plan a flight for your one and only trip of the year. Go and take some pictures. Just make sure you gas up BEFORE you get to Aspen!

From what it sounds like, there'll be good color down in the valley on the approach, and probably along Castle Creek Road, too. And the Marble side of McClure, as RichieV mentioned.

To paraphrase something I once heard Dewitt Jones write, if you go out looking for fall colors one day, but Mother Nature's doing snowcapped mountains that day, then by golly you better do snowcapped mountains!

You are right so I will clarify for the gold and red of the season :jump: I am a little crazy now (Well always :>) It is true just haven't been motivated lately. It is hard to get out with my situations.

Brenden - if you're looking for the typical hillsides of blazing golds and reds, I don't think you'll find them near Aspen. That being said, if it were me, I'd go! It's equally - if not more - beautiful than a typical year. The snow dressing the mountains makes for some remarkable photography. A lot of the aspen are copper and auburn, rather than blazing gold. IMO, they're no less beautiful or photogenic, especially when complimented by the snow.

Richie V and Rene had said that McClure was looking very nice.
