D200 w. Sigma 150mm macro
1/60 sec @ f16, handheld, built in flash @ -1.3 ISO 800
Playing about in the garden today (we have a bank holiday)and took a load of shots of wasps getting merrily pissed on the fallen plums. Quite hard to get the combination of a pleasing group as well as reasonable dof. Didn't quite get there, but liked this one the best.

LOL, they certainly seem to be enjoying themselves. I see what you mean about the difficulties of getting a good group shot etc. However, this ain't too bad. The only minor nits I have are the legs being clipped at the bottom and the wing being clipped at the top. However, this might just be a result of the crop.
Hope you enjoyed your day off up there.

Hi Malcolm
I really really like this shot, very insperational. Minor nit a tad tight top and bottom!

I agree its always much harder to get pleasing shots of groups than individuals but i think you've done well here. I do find the crop a little too tight though.

Hi Malcolm
Well seen. I haven't tried taking macros myself, but I imagine that it's not easy getting all the elements together as well as you have here. However, crop is just a little to tight for me.
