Details for the NENP weekend in Littleton, NH
I want to set expectations on the schedule and activities for this weekend's meeting in Littleton, NH. Most indications are that the foliage will be at its peak in this area between this Thursday and next Monday so we ought to have some great opportunities. The
Weather forecast looks like there could be some rain and clouds but I believe that a high overcast that lets light through is far better for foliage shots than sunshine. (Maybe Jim Salge can post a forecast from his perch at the weather station at the top of
Mt. Washington on Wednesday or Thursday)
Friday Sept 29th
12:30-1:00 PM About 5 or 6 people expect to arrive around Noontime on Friday. Let’s meet at the Econo Lodge. Check in time is not until 3 PM so we will head out to get some photos.
1:00 PM Afternoon photos - There are a number of things we can pursue including waterfalls, rivers, foliage shoots in the greater Littleton area. We will see what the weather brings and what people want to do and get some great photos.
(Please confirm with me by Thursday via email if you expect to arrive this afternoon photo session)
7:00 PM Dinner - We will head to downtown Littleton to Italian Oasis Restaurant & Brewery ( 106 Main St, Littleton, NH ).We will have a bite to eat, sample the local libations. If you are arriving in Littleton Friday afternoon or evening please try to join us there even if it is only for a drink. Sometime during the evening we will decide how many different groups will head out Saturday morning based on photo interests. We will set the time for each group’s departure as well.
The Italian Oasis is in downtown Littleton. As you head into downtown from I93 it will be on the left and is set back from the road. Parking in along the street or behind the restaurant.
Saturday Sept 30th
Saturday Photo opportunities - Some people will be heading north to Pittsburg, NH in search of Moose. The area around Pittsburg has LOTS of Moose. Along to road to Pittsburg and up in the Pittsburg area there will be opportunities for foliage, waterfalls, rivers, farm scenes, ECT. The entire group could head up to Pittsburg and the entire range of photo opportunities could be seen. We may want to group people by photo preference in the same cars for stops along the way.
If there are people who have a photo interest that can not be taken care of in this area we will organize a group to fulfill those needs
6:00 PM Dinner - We will choose a place for dinner and go as a group or we can slip into smaller parties.
8:30 Meeting Room 2nd floor of the Econo Lodge – NEPN meeting and Photo Shows.
This is the opportunity to show us your work. You can show us your favorite photos, something you are working of for a project, or any theme you wish. The purpose of this show is not to critique but to share photos, ideas, techniques, locations, or whatever. We can accommodate 35 mm slides as well as digital images. Please refer to my post on how to prepare digital images for the slideshow.
