Icon Warning: Sunday Maroon Bells
Since no one else is posting an image of the bells on Sunday, I thought I would give you my best attempt. Hope everyone got some great shots. Hard to miss on a day like this! Robbie

What a sweet shot. the MBs are made for photographers. Congrats for being there, capturing the scene and sharing it with this forum.

You're killing me! I had given up on the reflection and moved on to the other end of the lake and finally up to Crater Lake. Darren and Brent informed me that the reflection did occur, so glad you took advantage too. It was an awesome morning.

What I really love about this shot is the pine trees on the left of the image. It just says winter too me. It provides a nice contrast to the fall look of the right.

Very beautiful overall. Thank you for posting.

Sweet shot! I'm jealous of the snow on those branches. I was up there today (Monday). There was less snow on the trees, but still great conditions. It's definitely warming up, but I imagine the snow should be nice for the next couple of mornings.

Icon? Sure. But they're icons for a reason. Holy cow, this is fantastic!

This is fantastic. The fall colors and snow mix is just awesome. I agree with whomever said the snow covered pine trees on the left really make this a special image. Nicely done!

Great image Robbie!! I'd say we couldn't have been more than 10 tripods away from each other that morning judging by this image. Wish I had know, would have been good to meet you finally. It was truly and awesome morning, huh. Oh by the way, we have Rick Dunn to thank for the water finally calming down and getting the reflection! He left about a half hour before it happened! Thanks Rick! :jump: :toast:

Way cool Robbie. I was there on Wed morning before the snow. Wish I would have waited for this. Just amazing!

This is one of my favorites that I have ever seen from this spot. Amazing! :toast:

Hey Robbie...you stole my shot! (just kidding---I've got one very similar). I was next to Brent when this happened about 9:30 (thanks Rick) and many of the photographers and tripods had moved on by this time and there was room to capture this amazing scene (at 5:55 a.m. you couldn't get close to this angle for all the tripods already in place). I agree that the trees on the left add the final touch. It just confirms my thought that no matter how many times you go to this location, it's going to be different, and you never know when you're going to get the killer image. Congratulations!

Just got back from a 14 day trip that included the Bells on the 21st and again on the 26th, went to Yellowstone in between because I wasn't impressed by the quality of the leaf progression on the 21st. I heard stories about the morning of the 24th while on the road and your shot exemplifies the awesome junction of fall and winter I had heard the rumors about. Congrats! Can someone please kick me in the butt the next time you see me for missing out on this white extravaganza?

One of the best photos from the Bells that I've seen. I like that it isn't over the top with saturated colors. I'm now convinced that it's worthwhile to try getting there.

Killer shot, Robbie. I told Brent before leaving that shortly after my departrure, the wind would stop, the lake would calm, and something special would happen. I tried to convince him that he should be the one to make the sacrifice and leave, but nooooooo
