After a frustating morning on Kebler Pass on Saturday morning, I gave up on the typical fall color shots. Although we've seen some very dramatic and excellent work from the snowy conditions this weekend, after two consecutive weekends of snow-dumps and cold winds, I was too cold to have the patience required to get good winter/fall shots. So for sunset on Saturday night, my wife and I, along with Adam and Sally, headed to the Black Canyon. I missed the shot do to equipment issues, but I thought I would share. Hopefully Adam will chime in with his images from here, cause I got feeling he really got something special that night.
I also posted another change of pace shot from the weekend on ESS.

Looks like you got something special too, Brian. You've picked up the rock striations on the canyon face very nicely and a perspective I've not seen before. Your shot on the ES+S is terrific, too. Looks like your time was spent quite well in spite of things.

Very unique comp, nice light, good clarity/contrast...this is great! The one from ess is also excellent.

If this is what you call missing the shot, I'd hate to see what getting it looks like! I love that collection of rocks, too. I've got a few with them in the frame somewhere in my wayback machine.

Cool shot Brian. It sure does look nice and warm especially relative to all the snowy fall color shots you probably took over the past weekend.

Brian,
I really like this shot, SUPERB job! Gosh, the foreground composition, the light carrying across the frame, and the sliver of water.. WOW

I wish I had something this good from that night. The burned area along the top of the canyon is distracting but I absolutely love the foreground.
