South Sister
Had a convention to go to last week, at the Inn at 7th Mountain in Bend last Wed, Thur, Fri...so I spent every morning and evening up at the lakes around Century drive. I got every kind of weather possible those days...nice clouds, fog, sun, sleet, and snow. I took a hike Friday afternoon up past Todd Lake and to the base of broken top. What a beautiful area...I got to spend more time in there before they close the road down. I didn't get any decent pics because of mid day sun back in there...but I was really just out scouting around anyway.
This was taken Wednesday morning. Shortly after this, I ran into Tomas...so that was cool to meet him. We had some sweet light as the sun came up over the hills. I'm really getting a serious backlog of images.

Stunningly smooth and silky. I just love the pink and blue of the PNW mornings and you've captured it beautifully. This image has a crispness and a flow that is strong, yet subtle. Very nice!

Rick,
Nice comp. I love the fog and the reflection.

The mood and muted colors are terrific. Wouldn't mind seeing the reflection a little lighter (but still darker than the mtn itself).

Awesome and tack sharp. I love the crisp lines and zen-like graphical quality.

That's sweet Rick! I do like the one you posted on Photo.Net a little better, in that it doesn't include the mtn hump on the left, and the foreground point of land is nicely detailed due to the fog that separates the mtn from it. Both are sweet images.

Thanks you guys. I appreciate it. I was fortunate to have decent conditions on the first morning.
I like the one on photo.net a tad better too. I thin I may post that one tomorrow on ESS.

Very nice shot Rick,
Let me know if youre up for a shooting trip around Broken top, I would really like to get up there before the road closes also. That's funny about Tomas, I ran into him at Morman Row last year in the morning....he seems to be everywhere.

SWEET! Sweet, Sweet, Sweet!
I'm thinking OH, this is so sweet. Then I scroll down, and what do I see? My brother's post "sweet."
<sigh>

Honestly, you
you'd think we were related or something.

I have to say...this is one fine image....crystal clear, perfect sharpening and it almost looks like it could have been taken with a 4x5.... The fog and the reflection just nail this image.....well done... :toast:

Thanks again.
Lynn: You could never be as wierd as Mark...even if you were conjoined twins

Jeremy...I will defintely contact you. I'm thinking of a weekend up into the Green Lakes area too. Since it's smack dab right in the middle of Broken Top and the South Sister...it should be really cool. It will be time to see if my new sleeping bag is really a zero degree bag...
