Ironton Park Color after the snowstorm
This image was taken from Ironton Park on Saturday. The clouds had just cleared at mid-day as my wife and I were traveling on our way to Durango. On Monday, the leaves were rust-colored or brown and falling. On Kenosha Pass, through South Park, over Monarch, Coalbank Pass below Twilight Peaks, Kendall Mtn. outside of Silverton, and up Gothic Road outside of Crested Butte; it was all the same story - lime green, mottled leaves turning to rust and even chocolate brown and falling. The only place that appeared to have a chance at decent color was Dallas divide, which is about a week away from peak. (IMO)

I believe the peak in this image is Hayden Mountain - I'll confirm. Todd, Jack B., feel free to weigh in.

D200, 18-200 Nikon lens, Sing-Ray polarizer.

Whether or not this is Hayden Peak will not dim the fact that this is a killer shot, crappy aspens be damned! (craspens?)
