Anyone heard first-hand reports about the Tetons?

I hesitate to rely on the ranger station up there because their definition of 'good' and mine are likely to differ.

You mean, like their discovery?

I just returned from a four day visit to Grand Teton NP on Sunday. The colors there are similar to what I'm reading here concerning Colorado. Kinda dull and quickly going to brown and dropping. I was disappointed as it was one of the poorer color years I've seen in the past 10 years. However, there are small pockets of good color. For the most part, the peak (what there will be of it) is going to be this week and weekend. The stormy weather last week wasn't nearly as intense in the Tetons as in Colorado, so most trees didn't have their leaves stripped off. Hope this helps. :toast:

I just got back from the Tetons.
Oxbow Bend will probably peak this coming weekend on or about Oct. 1.
It's like like Old Faithful it never fails.

The rest of the park looks to have an average year
for fall color and will peak this weekend as well.

i just got back from the tetons on monday and echo what others have said. oxbow was probably at least a week out so this weekend should start to be getting good. some areas are past peak, though they are not the "sweet spots". like colorado, those trees that are turning are not brilliant, but hey its the tetons, you cant go wrong!
