Well, what did you expect
I went for a boat trip round part of the island on Monday to see what the Guillemot wreck situation was, and it was worse than expected. Anyway, I managed quite a few images, including this Shag which was flying alongside our rib boat. I used the BW version as I thought it worked quite well (the colour version and more info about the trip is on my web site).

Hi Phillip
Quite like this, though the bill is a little soft, which detracts a little. Last weeks' winds have played havoc with the auks, etc. hasn't it. We have had a number of gullemots way up the Clyde here in Lanarkshire and there was even a Shag upstream of Hamilton at the weekend, which is almost unheard of.
Cheers

This really appeals to me Phil!!!!,
An ideal subject/situation for B&W avian photography to work perfectly {in my view}
Definately adds a special something for me.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Malcolm, I agree with you re the beak, yet it looks OK in colour - have I cocked up the conversion somehow?
Best wishes
