Hi everyone. In the first week of November I will be driving across the country from Kentucky to California, and was wondering if Yellowstone is typically still accessible via the eastern entrance at that time of year? The three routes I have in mind for the trip are depending on driving conditions:
1. KY, MO, KS, CO, UT, NV, CA
2. KY, IN, IL, IA, MN, SD, WY, ID, UT, NV, CA
3. KY, MO, OK, TX, NM, AZ, CA
I'd prefer to either spend several days in the Rockies and Utah or Yellowstone & Tetons.
Thanks.

Typically the east (south and west) entrance to Yellowstone is closed around the first Monday in November. That would be Nov. 6 this year.

Thanks Doug. I think I'll be taking I-70 then, and will see the Maroon Bells for the first time.

Richard - Keep in mind that the road to the Maroon Bells may be closed by that time. You may need skis or snowshoes to get to the lake. Sounds like they don't set a specific date for road closure, it depends on the weather.

Darn, I'll either have to take up snowshoeing or find some other places to go in Colorado. I've only spent two days in the state before, so I'll have to do my homework given the weather may limit my options.
