Hey,
I know most folks are hanging around the Elks, West Elks and San Juans but the Flattops has some action - although kinda wierd.
The Aspen up high are having the "dull to brown" problems of everywhere else but many of the lower elevation trees are good color. Problem is they're turning very slowly. Not a lot of progress since last week at this time. Maybe those late turners will have the good ol yellow and red colors.
Here is a link to some pics I took a couple of weeks ago just after the first big snow.
Here is a link to some snapshots I took today with the P&S. Sorry for the flare and all - just snaps for a report in case someone is interested.
Not a stellar year, same as everywhere else, but plenty to point your camera at.

Darren, I'll be fishin' with the fam at Sheriff on Saturday (and taking picks on the way up and down). Stop and say hi if you see us with the "beast" (White F250). Sheriff Res is about 3 or 4 miles off the main rd. and higher up - not much color likely right at the lake.
