The color between Durango and Silverton is rocking right now. Lots of great yellow, with some really nice orange and red mixed in here and there. I have no pictures to show, as I was not feeling well enought to take pictures. I did drive on Old Lime Creek Road. It appears that the stand of red aspen that usually is behind Scout Lake is toast, but there was still lots of great color there. The real problem with Scout Lake is that it looks really ratty this year.

The color between Silverton and Ridgway was mediocre.

Thanks for the info Brian. I wish I could have gone this weekend. Oh well, there is always next season.

East Side Owl Creek: Funky, lots past prime, lots still green. Should be able to find stuff for rest of week!
West Side Owl Creek: Awesome, should be good too mid-week!
Sneffels Range: Awesome, should be good to late week!
Telluride: Awesome, but quickly fading. Monday's storm will likely kill it.

Hopefully I'll post some pictures tomorrow. A fabulous weekend of fall color around Ridgway. It's 100% prime time awesome right now. If you have any remaining time on your fall trip, and your on the fence, get to the San Juans for good stuff... Unless if the Monday weather is truly wicked, things should be good through the week around Sneffels.
