My first time......
Down this Trail.

Such a beautiful place but very very hard to shoot....

I know we have seen a bunch of this lately....But I needed to get out there and see it for myself....

Please comment and/or critique so I can have a better understanding on what to work on next time!

Thanks in advance

Darren

The shadows may be too dark but it's a nice crop. IMHO of course.

Lovely work Darren. IMHO of course.

Wow! Awesome image! Hard to critique thisÉ That's a tough exposure scenario in the field. If I could contain my excitement (which forces me to forget everything I ever learned about photography!), I'd meter one shot for the highlight at the base of the falls and another for the shadow area and blend them in Photoshop. Like I said, "Coulda, shoulda, woulda." This is a beautiful shot on its own. Where were you? (unless of course you don't want to give away a favorite place  ). :toast:

That leaf is getting quite the workout, eh?

I think I'd either like to see more of the falls or none at all. I think you'd have a nice moody shot without them.

Catherine,

this is Oneonta Gorge! The falls is not visible from the road and there is a huge log jam you have to climb over before you start wading though the "slot canyons" before you get to the falls.....there is no way to get here with out at least going up to your waist in water....

Darren: I'm not sure I did the leaf. It makes my eyes fight bgetween the waterfall and the leaf. I understand what you are trying to do, but this adds to confusion. Maybe it could be darkened so as not to command as much attention as it does IMHO. All said, it takes effort to get in here and also to do the set up. You are to me commended for your efforts.
