Im going to Finland again in February (i cnat wait!) and this image was taken last winter from a hide. There was very little action during the day and one of the few birds that visited the hide that day was the Grey headed woodpecker which is a rarity in Western Finland. I think its a beautiful woodpecker.

Wow - that is just beautiful Rene. The reflected light from snow really does pick out the fine feather detail. Well done

Beautiful Rene - the Finns are so lucky, in winter it may be a short day but the snow and the quality of the light is to 'die for'

Wonderful shot Rene,

Very sleek pose, and superb setting

Must have been a huge thrill to see, and very rewarding to capture such a shot of this bird!!
