I just wanted to give you all a heads up that Dave Showalter has a nice article in Nature Photographer this month on the 'Many Seasons of RMA NWR'. It was a good read with some nice photos. Nice job Dave!

Congrats, Dave. I've had this magazine for a few weeks now and actually read you article within the first two days. However, I did not recognize your name at the time.

I recall thinking how your Lake Ladora image reminds me a little of home. Congrats again and Nature Photographer is a top fav. of mine for reading. I love how they focus more on reading material of places and subjects than gear reviews and how to's.

Thanks Guys,

Nature Photographer is a great place to start getting work published. They are receptive to helping aspiring photographers and writers get traction in this very competitive business. My Seasons of RMA article was rejected by another photo rag and NP liked the idea.
So, I would highly recommend NP to anyone who wants to see their work published and get photo credits. They also give you 25 magazines every time you get something published.

Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR is open on weekends and autumn is IMO the best time to visit. Although the accessibility isn't the greatest for photographers, there are still great opportunities out there. The cottonwoods look great right now, prairie grasses are decadent, and the deer are becoming very active preparing for rut next month. In fact, the mule deer are considered to be among the largest in N. America. Plus, it's in our backyard. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
