After updating my firmware, I found that my File Number Sequence had been turned off but not reset. Perhaps options revert to their default settings. Just a heads up to check your settings.

I updated my D200 with no side effects and no changes to my custom settings - including my recent settings menu.

Thanks David. I checked mine out and found the same thing as you. Also, the function button can no longer be set for hi-speed crop. Now it is accessed thru Func.+ Command dial. It's getting late, but I'll definitely want to go through the entire menu tomorrow and reset everything. Thanks again for pointing this out - saved me a lot of aggravation and confusion.

I think the hi-speed crop function was always accessed via the Func. + Command Dial. At least that's how I always did it. Now you can use the Func button on it's own also, so you can set it for two functions. I set mine for spot metering. I had two banks set with custom settings, and none of them were affected by the upgrade, much to my relief. I am anxious to see if you can notice any improvements to the autofocus!

Sweet upgrade! At least for the D2X, this firmware is like a 75% upgrade to a D2Xs. The only things missing are the physical changes - the new LCD and viewfinder, (and speed of continuous fire?). The firmware covers all the rest: B&W mode, Trim menu, better focus acquisition and tracking, Recent Changes menu, New HI-0.{3|5|7} ISO modes. All very nice. But most importantly: they enabled Mirror Lock-up under battery power!
