I finally got some post processing done from my trip last week. This is my first year living in Colorado. All I can say is that this is truly an incredible place to be, especially during the fall.

The highlights of the trip were snow at the Bells and Wilson Mesa. Here is a link to the photos I have PP so far:

Derek, I love the night shots and the clouds you had, we had clear skies and no clouds at all! In fact we were getting sunburned last weekend!

Nice collection of photos you shot this fall. Not bad for your first year in Colorado!

Derek, it was nice meeting you in the San Juans. Your advice about Wilson Mesa was right. Beautiful area. When I get time to process some of my images I'll post them. By the way, really nice images.

James, I look forward to seeing your shots from the Bells on Saturday and Sunday. Thanks again for the tips about the spots *around* the Bells. The snow made it even more of an incredible time.

Rand,

I look forward to seeing your pictures. I noticed you were staying a little longer. It seemed like a lot of trees still had a ways to go. So I can imagine that there may still be nice color to be had down there even now.

Post processing definately takes some time after seeing so many good photo ops.

Wait, I want to go back! :jump: I could take a Kamikaze run from CS down there this Friday night and catch Saturday morning sunrise. Then my wife would definately think I am crazy. Anyone into carpooling. LOL...

Derek,
I just got back today from the San Juans. There was considerable wind and some rain, gropple, snow yesterday, which was on the heels of wind on Monday. The Monday winds took down half the leaves along the Ileum road valley by Telluride and half the remaining leaves on Dallas Divide. I left Tuesday after shooting a wonderful rainbow on Owl Creek Pass when the storm finally broke up. I didn't drive back to Telluride afterwards, so my guess is, after Tuesday's storm there is very little left near Telluride except for one amazingly beautiful grove just north of the Ophir turn off right by the large overlook parking area and one beautiful grove in the first couple of miles on the south end of the Ileum Road. I did find some beautiful aspen this morning in fog conditions on CO Hwy 92 running along the north side of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison for about a 15-20 mile span west of the Blue Mesa dam. Owl Creek Pass is also still going strong but the road was pretty muddy although easily doable in my 4wd vehicle.
