It's always funny when I sell a photo. It doesn't happen often, but they're never the ones I like. In fact they're usually shots posted because there was nothing better at the time. Case in point: this image of a Burying Beetle with mites. It may be used in a kids book about gross stuff.
I'd never seen a burying beetle until last year. This one I found next to a roadkill garter snake. The beetles act as "refuse relocation personal", hauling away small dead things and burying them. The mites actually help them by eating any competing fly eggs on the carcass.
Ugh.
Canon digital rebel, 70-300mm lens + reverse mounted 35mm prime, diffused flash, handheld, shutter 1/200, f/32, ISO 200
Anyone else have photos picked that you wouldn't have thought worthy?

Andy.......I agree, its weird what people will pay money for....I recently had a lady purchase this image from me.....dont ask me why but she did. and I did not ask any questions because money is money!!!!
Wow, me too! Isn't it odd! The stuff I consider my best is not what sells the best. The stuff i think is pretty ordinary seems to find it's way to people who like it. Butto each their own, for sure! Sandy R
